Karen Winter, Founder and CEO. Karen has a sales and marketing background.  She spent a number of years in the city working for Morgan Stanley and ABN Amro Bank, and subsequent years in senior search and selection for the Banking community before embarking on a career change into sales and marketing.  She has many years experience of exhibition organising for P&O Events at Earls Court & Olympia (EC&O) and for Reed Elsevier, running exhibitions at London venues and the NEC.  She was a senior manager with the business-to-business telecommunications network, Dolphin, and was the sales & marketing director of a marketing communications and brand agency.

She is also the founder and Managing Director of IT-shortlist (ITS) and UKIT Directory (est. 2002) – both marketing led services generating new business opportunities for the IT sector.

Karen is also actively involved day to day in the following marketing activities for ITS, UKITD and i-Exl:

Derek Evans, Chairman. Derek is a technology industry veteran, business visionary and entrepreneur with over 20 years unparalleled experience in developing start up and early stage business growth strategies in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in a diverse range of new technology markets. These include; Consumer Electronics, Satellite, Mobile Operators, MVNO – Cellular Service provision, Broadcast and New Media, Mobile Application Development, Wireless connectivity, content and Data services.

He is an experienced Board member, Consulting Board Advisor, coach and mentor and is an experienced business strategist in Business to Business and Business to Consumer growth markets through both Direct and Indirect Channels.

He has extensive experience in developing Pan European strategic alliances and a broad base of contacts and relationships across multiple new growth technology and Media business sectors.  He is also well connected with UK Venture capital investment businesses.

Derek has a held numerous consultant advisory roles including; Sparrowhawk Media (Hallmark Channel), Vodafone, Prudential Bank and IO Global. He is currently a senior advisor to Clearplay International and CEO of My Star Challenge.

Derek is also the founder/CEO of ScreenTWIST Digital Media (UK) Limited.  Under the brand MobileMate
Screentwist develops a range of intuitive mobile applications which deliver a simple rich media experience’ for mobile phone users through its unique ‘interactive mobile services platform’. The platform delivers a comprehensive range of ‘intuitive’ location based ‘interactive’ Mobile Services Applications’ for i-phone, Android, Symbian, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Java based mobile phones.

Other positions include;

Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA for Sierra Wireless, quoted on Nasdaq and Toronto exchanges – specialists in mobile data PC cards and embedded modules.

General Manager/Sales Director positions at Orange Telecommunications and British Satellite Broadcasting (BskyB) during their initial market launches, Dolphin Telecom, a pan European network operator, General Manager at BT/Cellnet (now O2), managing their cellular service subsidiary business and Hitachi Sales (UK) Ltd, responsible for consumer electronic product sales.

Additional Members of the Team. Andy, Joel and team – These guys are the technical team and they focus on making all the technical stuff work.  They are geniuses when it comes to programming and search engine optimisation SEO – but they are so modest they are unlikely ever to admit to it – so, we’ll just have to blow their trumpets for them.

Mark – Mark is the “human calculator” and looks after the cheque book and all the other stuff to do with finances, budgets and planning.

Mark C – Mark is the video production guy and presenter - a natural in front of and behind the camera.

Sian – Is a professional script editor whom we all adore.  She lives in Switzerland and works with the team remotely.
